Born and based in the historic metalworking town of Tsubame, Niigata, a region globally renowned for its centuries-old tradition of hammered copperware (tsuiki dōki) and precision metal craft, Yuchiro's ceramics works beautifully bridge the worlds of clay and metal. Independent since 2020, he is a self-taught artist whose pottery explores the fine line between functional simplicity and raw visual beauty. He builds elegant yet functional silhouettes that balance simplicity and structural beauty.

His signature wheel-thrown forms are distinguished by deep black and copper glazes (kuro-dōyū), yielding a modern, metallic finish that catches the light and gracefully matures with daily use. Often working with blends of clay and porcelain to combine rich glaze effects with sharp silhouettes and smooth tactility.
